Back to work

Long and eventful weekend. Had to go and collect the last of my things for the apartment I shared with my ex girlfriend. Sad to see a picture of us smashed on the floor and pictures torn up, only natural I guess. It was hard seeing all the things I’d bought her stuffed into the items she wanted me to take away. I took them out and left them as I bought them for her if she does not want them then she can throw them away I do not want them back. I had planned to leave the PC and some other bits and pieces so she could make use of them but it looks like she is leaving town so I thought I would reclaim them now. No idea what I need another PC for but I’m sure I will find a use for it in the future. By the time the farm has been finished and sold the PC will be so out of date it will need a new one. It took two trips to the flat to get the last of the things sad to think a week ago I was leaving with one suitcase and black bag with all my clothes in.

Interviewed two lots of builders both seemed good. Think I will go for the slightly more expensive builder as he will do all the running around something I just do not have the time for. I think things will kick off in about three weeks plenty of time to get the skips in to get rid of most of the old builders waste. Managed to clean up all of downstairs and throw away lots of junk, all the good stuff is now upstairs. Next couple of weeks will involve unpacking/repacking all the stuff that’s been in boxes for four years! I wish it was all sold up and I could move on but that’s going to be a year or so yet.

I did manage to get an airgun a Gamo CX 1000FPS with a Varmint Hunter Kit Scope (laser site and lamp). I download some targets measured out 15 meters and scoped out the gun. I laid down on a horse rug and used an upturned bucket with an old sponge to rest the gun. It took about five shots to get the scope setup correctly and then I put the laser into the middle of the site. Much to my surprise I managed to cluster 10 pellets within the 1 cm bull from 15 meters! I had messed about with friends airguns when I was a kid and had always been a crap shot. After a bit of internet reading and a chat with the guy in the shop and I could pop off a rat at 50 meters without any bother technology is great. Rat hunting is going to have to wait a while started to bait up the barn so they get used to feeding in range.
