Just upgraded my Alcatel (nee. Ascend) SpeedTouch 510 to R4.2.3 of the software to fix a problem I was having with Passive Mode FTP. The firmware was easy to find and download. The installation process was just as simple. Such a long way since we have to attach a serial cable and use Kermit.
Back to the scooter project I've now been advised it would make more sense to fit a 125cc 2 Stroke from a PK125/ET3, it appears that this is a more cost effective hybrid. If it has the original engine number matched to the frame I can claim ignorance when I get stopped, hang on I just blogged that . . .

Being an ex Ascend employee do not remember SpeedTouch being a product or OEM product, just remember the ole Pipelines...
But then again I could be wrong and not the first time.
I must get better at reading the comments on my own blog I only came accross this one in late March 2005. The SpeedTouch is a BSD based product the same as the Ascend Max/Pipeline. The UI is fairly similar and the command line is the same none intuative structure. Saying that its been 10 years since I did any real hands on work these days some programme manager might ask my advice on an implemenation but thats about it. Its funny I spent so long chasing technology these days all I seem to do is at home.
