When I was a kid I tried to keep a diary on a number of occasions and it never really worked out I stuck to it for a couple of days then lost interest. In the early 90’s I was fairly active in news groups writing under a number of names in alt.hacking and later in places such as comp.security.firewalls when terms like 31337 (phracker-speak" for "elite") did not sound lame. I was traveling for work and my employer had provided me with a mobile brick phone and one of the trendy Compaq Portable Ones. I would download the messages read and sometimes write a response. My attention to this depend on how long I was away from home and who was paying for my dial up bill.
I started the blog thing at work as my boss wanted to share some of the R&D stuff we were working on within the company. Over the last year its become a bit of a habit.
