Friday Holiday

Thursday was two bank holidays in Holland. It was Ascension and Liberation day. Liberation day is a bank holiday once in every five years but this year it fell on another national holiday. That means you loose one of the bank holidays. My employer gave us both the Thursday and the Friday off whilst most other people here only go the Thursday off. I’m trying to make sure my girlfriend knows how special she is to me so I arranged to take charge of the two days.

We finished up work on Wednesday and we went for a quick bite to eat at Zushi, been a number of times before the food has been up and down since it opened but on this occassion it was very much on the up.

Then we went on to the Tuschinski, a cinema that dates back to 1911. Its such an old cinema they have two people “love seats”, in the price for these you get a glass of wine, chips, popcorn all served by your waiter. Real nice spent a lovely couple of hours cuddling up and watching the movie. Stopped off at the bar over the road from my girlfriends apartment for a nightcap, great evening.

Got up fairly late and went foraging for food at Tony’s Muffins and the local Albert Hein. Then onto the Bridal Suite at a really cool hotel just out of Amsterdam. Highly recommended the room came with a King Sized bed, Fireplace, Minibar (which we stocked with the stuff we brought), large Sauna, Steam Cabin, huge whirlpool bath, double sinks, balcony the list goes on. Just chilled out for the rest of the evening taking time out to go for an excellent meal in the restaurant. Great nights sleep and excellent breakfast before going to the airport as my girlfriend is off to Budapest. We both had a great time will have to do it all again real soon.

The only wrinkle in the in the day was when I put the scooter back together. All went well until I tried to fit the carburetor and noticed that the pipe between the carb and the engine is to small. Will have to see if I can get another part tomorrow.
