Sunday Bike Day

Got the scooter back together yesterday, to find the garage has not put the kick start together correctly. It just does not engage so will have to take the whole engine back for them to get it working. Funny it was working before I took it in to get the oil seal and the overdrive kit fitted. The bike was easy enough to bump start but I had a few problems until I realized I had put the gear selector on the wrong way around. Once that was put right it worked much better. Still have problems with the idle which is way to high. Took it for a short spin and there is a major difference in performance. I took it up to 45 in third and the dropped it into fourth and the performance was sluggish I just did not have enough revs. Real strange as that was the old top speed of the bike. The instructions say not to crank the bike up until 300 kilometers so I took it up to 65 which to be honest is plenty fast enough on those tiny wheels with 1950’s brakes. Today I’m going to try and get the idle under control then I can start working on those 300 run in miles.

The farmer came over yesterday with the news that there had been asbestos in the skip. There are a number of asbestos panels on various buildings on the farm but I had no idea how parts had found there way into the skip. Lucky for me that the depot had just put everything back into the skip and sent it to the farmer to sort through without closing the depot. Lucky for me as that would have resulted in a 60,000 euro fine!!! The farmer was a bit upset but to be honest I had no idea how it had got in the skip. Now he’s going to have to dump the contents onto concrete the sift through looking for the panels ending up costing me an extra 250 euro which I could do without.

I’ve started taking an interest in my Gameboy Advanced SP again. It’s a very versatile platform which can play shop bought games or a whole raft of say Spectrum Games. To hook up the Spectrum games you will need a developers Flash Card. I have two a 256 Meg EZFA Advance and a 512 EFA Extreme Flash Advance. Feeling lonely today as my Girlfriend is off in Budapest with the “girls”. Its hard spending two wonderful days together then coming back out to the farm and being without her. If I get my act together the farm could be sorted in a couple of months then it can be sold and I can finally be free of this place and my old life.
